  3. Harvest Experience

    October 11, 2017 by misstimmins

Today we walked to Abington Park Church for our Harvest Experience.

When we arrived we were put into four groups and took part in a range of different harvest experiences around the church. As the children made their way around the church they collected a range of words.

    Generosity
      Peace

    Joy

    Patience

The children planted a seed, made a small clay pot and a paper boat linked to the different experiences around the church.

The children were amazing and a represented the school fanatically. You should all be very proud.

A big thank you to all of the helpers this afternoon and for the church for arranging the experience for our children.

    September 29, 2017 by misstimmins

Today we had another visit from Queen Elizabeth II.

The children had lots of questions to ask her.

We then spent the afternoon completing a family tree, finding out where she lives and looking at her crown in preparation to design our own.

Can you tell me a fact about Queen Elizabeth II?

Making crowns, designing shields, portraits of the queen, drawings of Buckingham Palace and making jam sandwiches.

In the afternoon the children played some royal sports.

What was your favourite part of the day?

The children had a great time this afternoon. They all got involved singing, dancing and creating new rhymes.

We completed some follow up work from the Rhyme Rockets on Tuesday.

The children were asked to generate a list of rhyming words in small groups. We then used their ideas to create our own class rhyme.

  8. Welcome Back

    September 6, 2016 by misstimmins

    Welcome back!

We have had a fantastic first two days back at school. The children have been very busy exploring their new classroom and getting to know Miss Shaw.

We have had a very exciting day today. This morning we discovered a mystery bag in our classroom. Attached to the bag was a message from Dog Skeleton. He needed our help to name, label and match the pictures to the correct body parts. The children worked with their new talk partners to write their label and then present their work back to the class.

We successfully pieced the body parts back together for Dog Skeleton.

The children then worked in groups to label the different body parts onto their chosen outline. They did a great job!

But how did Dog Skeleton get into our school?

The children have spent their break times looking for clues on the playground. What clues did you find?

    Tallest/taller

    Smallest/smaller

    Quickest/ quicker

    hardest/ harder

    Longest/ longer
